The Debevc family has a long tradition in the Grand River Valley wine region. Tony Debevc and his father started Debonne Vineyards back in 1972. Ohio’s largest estate winery is known for its beautiful, organic scenery of rolling hills filled with acres and acres of grapevines. The winery itself features a large selection of wines as well as appetizers and sandwiches. Keeping the family tradition alive, Tony Jr. joined the team at Debonne in 2008 and started a brewery that is now known as Double Wing Brewing Company to commemorate his father's love of flying. Both the winery and the brewery have garnered international awards for their wine and craft beers.
Gene Sigel, vineyard manager for Debevc Farms since April of 1994, started his own winery operation in 2002 known as South River Vineyards. Gene relocated a historic church from Shalersville, OH and reconstructed it on his vineyard property. In 2005, Tony and Beth Debevc teamed up with life long friends, Cindy and Jeff Lindberg and purchased one of the original wineries in the region that fell upon hard times. Grand River Cellars Winery & Restaurant opened its doors as a supper club featuring live entertainment and an extensive lunch and dinner menu to accompany the quality wines produced from the region and local craft beers. Grand River Cellars is very focused on the community spirit and is often the sight for various fundraisers throughout the year.
In 2019, Tony and Beth decided to build a new addition to the Grand River Valley wine region and Cask 307 was born. This new facility was built on a need to educate the consumer on regional wines and to be the gateway to the valley. This winery features unique regional wines, specialty craft beers made specifically for them by Double Wing Brewing Co., and specialty cheese plates and light fare.
