Grand River Cellars Winery & Restaurant
Grand River Cellars prides itself in producing quality wines from grapes grown in the Grand River Valley Wine Region. Its Riesling, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc and Pinot Grigio all benefit from the care taken in the vineyard to produce a quality Ohio wine. Specialty wines include Merlot Reserve, Vidal Blanc Ice Wine, and Chardonnay Reserve. The wines have received prestigious awards including the Director of Agricultures Award for the Best Dessert Wine in the State for Grand River Cellars 2005 Vidal Blanc Ice Wine; Director of Agricultures Award for the Best White Wine in the State for Grand River Cellar 2006 Chardonnay; Best Red in the State for the Cabernet Franc plus a multitude of Gold and Double Gold awards for the other wines
South River Vineyard
We are one of the largest vinifera growers in the area, making old world selections that are suited for cooler climates. Our 50 acres of vineyards include Riesling, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Pinot Noir, as well as Merlot and Semillon, the only farmers in this area to grow them.  We plant only Old World European varieties. Though these are more difficult to grow because the vines are tender and can be damaged by cold winters,  South River Vineyard  is fortunate to have an ideal growing site, a site proven to be one of the warmest farms in the neighborhood. Lake Erie also plays a vital role;  it's warm breeze prevents frost in the spring, helpskeep the vines warmer in winter and promotes a longer growing season.  It all starts in the vineyards.  South River Vineyard's  growing site and carefully chosen grape varietals have contributed to its ability to produce quality...
